Day 15 - Friday, April 19 - Oasis of possibly Elim

After crossing the Red Sea, the Bible mentions in Numbers 33 verse 9, 10 that they later arrived at the shore once more: "Then they departed from Maʹrah and came to Eʹlim. Now in Eʹlim there were 12 springs of water and 70 palm trees, so they camped there. Next they departed from Eʹlim and camped by the Red Sea."

We visited the best candidate for that today. We had to go a long way through rough and rugged territory with no roads, but striking how wide the plains between the mountains are, room enough for a large group of people to pass through.

This place is not one oasis but a group of smaller and larger ones, with a total of what we were told exactly 12 wells even now. We found some that still have water in them as well.
